 A Message from David

“I feel honoured to have been given the opportunity to serve our community as a trustee for the TLDSB. I am a firm believer in open communication, collaboration and good old team work. If you have any concerns or questions please feel free to call me.”

As a teacher and the parent of five diversely different learners, David has experienced a broad range of learning pathways from the PALS classroom to French Immersion and the International Baccalaureate Program. In June 2014, after 30 years of teaching and administering Arts programs in both Newfoundland and Ontario, David retired from his position as Head of Performing Arts at I.E. Weldon Secondary School. David has always been active in his community, serving on many Boards including the Calypso Foundation Works Program, Kawartha Lakes Association for Community Living and the Lindsay Concert Foundation. He had a hand in the creation and development of the Trillium Lakelands Arts Camp, the Cooperative Initiatives in the Performing Arts program and the Kawartha Lakes Arts Council. David was also the director of the Lindsay Kinsmen Band from 1998 to 2006 and the creator of the Odyssey Project Music Program which he ran from 2006 to 2015. Currently, aside from his trustee duties, he keeps busy supporting teachers and young musicians across the province through his Musichouse Idea Exchange and by running music clinics, workshops, adjudicating at festivals, and volunteering with local school programs.
