TLDSB Receives Partner Environmental Recognition Award from Kawartha Conservation

On March 9, 2016, Director of Education Larry Hope was presented with a Partner Environmental Recognition Award at Kawartha Conservation’s Annual General Meeting. TLDSB is proud to accept the award on behalf of all students and staff who know first-hand the effects of learning in the out of doors – we believe it’s a natural fit.

In 2015, Trillium Lakelands District School Board was supportive in the reestablishment of Kawartha Conservation’s Outdoor Education Program. As a board, we see the benefits of learning outside and the effects on the body, mind, spirit, and emotions of an individual. We hosted ‘Take Me Outside to Learn’ at Ken Reid Conservation area back in the Fall of 2015, an event that saw many students, parents, and community members. We also chose Ken Reid as one of our winter locations for snowshoeing, providing 60 pairs of snowshoes to be housed at the conservation area.

We look forward to many more years of partnership and helping our students and staff to Feed All Four.
