TLDSB students competed for the chance to lead their team to book battle glory during ‘Battle of the Books’ held at BMLSS on March 31, 2015. Battle of the Books motivates and challenges students who enjoy reading, to form a team and compete against some of the fiercest reading warriors in the district.
Each year, finalists are invited to compete against others during a tournament. Battle of the Books is hosted at two levels: the Junior division is for students in grades 4 to 6 and the Senior division is for students in grades 7 and 8. TLDSB students read, sharpened their wits, and armed themselves with knowledge while having fun competing against other schools. Two judges read out quotes from various books, while teams buzzed in to name which novel the quote came from.
Congratulations to Monck PS for winning the Junior Division for Battle of the Books, and congratulations to Irwin Memorial PS for winning the intermediate division for Battle of the Books!
