We are committed to providing students with a safe and welcoming environment in which to grow and learn within an environment of responsibility, respect, kindness, and safety. We work together with our Leslie Frost community to encourage our students to become life-long learners and contributing members of society. Students, staff, parents, and community members all play a role in making our school successful.
Leslie Frost Public School was named after a former premier of Ontario. The Honourable Leslie Frost whose family has roots in this area.
We provide instruction in english and in french. We offer a french immersion program to students in Grades 1 to 6, as well as an english program for students in Grades JK-6. We are the only dual track school in the City of Kawartha Lakes, and have a large school population. Our students both walk and are bused to Leslie Frost Public School. If it is your intent to have your child attend french immersion in Grade 1, then you can register them for kindergarten at Leslie Frost PS, or your home school, and then move to Leslie Frost for Grade 1.
School council meets regularly and is made up of parents, staff, and community members who believe being involved in the education of our students improves the quality of the school’s programming and the quality of student education. All meetings are open to the public and the dates, times, agendas, and minutes are posted on our school website.
We are very proud of the large number of special events, extra-curricular activities, guest speakers, performances, and field trips that are offered to our students.
