Leslie Frost Public School

School Mission
We are committed to providing students with challenging programs and opportunities for growth in an environment of responsibility, safety, and respect. Through combined efforts of students, parents, staff, and community we strive to assist students to develop skills enabling them to reach their full potential as life-long learners and responsible citizens.

School History
Leslie Frost Public School was named after a former premier of Ontario the Honourable Leslie Frost, whose family has roots in this area. We are the only dual-track (English and French Immersion) public, elementary school in the City of Kawartha Lakes.

General Information
We foster equal and accountable partnerships between parents, students, teachers, support staff, and the principal.

Parent Participation
School Council consists of parents, staff, and community members who believe involvement in education improves the quality of the school and the quality of the children’s education.

All meetings are open to the public.

In our dual-track school, we encourage and establish
a high standard for all programs in a bilingual
setting. Our English language stream operates
from junior kindergarten to grade 6. Our French
Immersion stream begins in senior kindergarten
and continues to grade 8. We make every effort
to integrate community members into programs
whenever and wherever possible. We take care to
involve students from both streams in common
activities. We are especially proud of our music program, our alternative recess programs, and our
outreach programs with Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
