School Board ratifies agreement with early childhood educators

LINDSAY, ON: At last night’s Regular Meeting of the Board, Trillium Lakelands District School Board ratified a collective agreement with the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario representing the Designated Early Childhood Educators employed by the school board. The contract covers the period 2012-2014 when provincial negotiations are expected to begin.

The school board’s Designated Early Childhood Educators work in full day kindergarten classrooms as part of the educational team supporting our earliest learners.
“The role of our early childhood educators is key to the implementation of a successful full day kindergarten program,” stated Director of Education, Larry Hope, “Our full day kindergarten classrooms are amazing hubs of learning where early childhood educators work closely with the kindergarten teacher to deliver the best program possible.”
“This contract took a lot of time and effort both by our board team as well as our ETFO partners,” stated Chairperson Louise Clodd, “Everyone worked hard to provide the best possible outcome for our early childhood educators.”
