Race Against Drugs Promotes Healthy Messaging to Students

From May 19 – 22, 2015 over 1,000 students attended Race Against Drugs, a four-day community-based drug and alcohol awareness program developed by the RCMP that is designed to promote healthy and drug-free lifestyles.

TLDSB had a huge presence, along with community partners such as the Boys and Girls Club of Kawartha Lakes, Chimo, Point in Time, HKPR District Health Unit, John Howard Society, EMS, and more.

Grade 7 and 8 students attended the event at the Fenelon Falls arena to participate in a number of ‘pit stops’ which focused on topics related to substance abuse and misuse, and mental well-being. Events like this continue to provide youths with information on how they can live a drug-free life.
