Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) schools and buildings have been closed since March 23. Teaching and learning has been taking place for the remainder of the school year through TLDSB Learning@Home.
Last week the Ministry of Education announced plans for the safe reopening of schools in September. TLDSB staff have been working on plans for a number of potential scenarios for several weeks now. With the government direction announced on Friday, we now know that we must plan for three potential scenarios:
- A return to conventional, regular classroom instruction, with health and safety requirements.
- A continuation of remote learning, including the use of live, synchronous online instruction.
- An adapted delivery model that enables students to return to class with blended virtual learning, that includes health and safety requirements that will limit the maximum number of students to 15 per class.
Plans for TLDSB staff and students will be made with the health and safety of all as our priority. We would like your input before we finalize or settle on plans for September. Please take a few minutes of your time to engage in this Thought Exchange to share with us your thoughts as we go into the fall. Please participate before Friday, June 26.
