J.D. Hodgson Elementary School makes a Big Splash

On February 27, The grade 4 classes of J.D. Hodgson Elementary School were presented with the Big Splash Award by Friends of Ecological and Environmental Learning (FEEL), in coordination with Haliburton-Muskoka-Kawartha Children’s Water Festival. The award is given to groups who present the best water saving ideas and actions.

J.D. Hodgson ES will hold on to the award until the next water festival, which is scheduled for September 28 and 29 of 2015. They also received Water Hero Certificates which will hang in their hallways for years to come. Both of these awards celebrate not only their Water Hero Contest entries, but they also act as a reminder that not only do we need to be water smart beyond any festival or contest, we need to be water conscious always!

Lady Mackenzie will also be receiving Water Hero Certificates for their second place in the contest on March 12th, at 2:30 p.m.

Congratulations to both schools!
