Fenelon Falls Secondary School hosted an OFSAA Try Day from March 9 to 13, 2015, with the support of the FFSS Athletic Union. After an introduction to the sport in various Health and Phys. Ed. classes, FFSS hosted an intramural ladder tournament at lunch to introduce this sport to the rest of the school community.
Pickleball has elements from badminton, tennis and ping pong. Thanks to an OFSAA Try Day grant, the Phys. Ed. Dept. was able to purchase new Pickleball equipment. Almost 100 students were able to try this new activity but new students each semester will benefit from this equipment, as well as during future intramural play. There are also recreational Pickleball leagues in the area for all age groups. The winners of the inaugural tournament were two students named Harrison and Tye. View photos from the event below!
