A note from the Director of Education and Chair of the Board
There are countless stories generated every day from the teaching and learning taking place in classrooms and schools throughout Trillium Lakelands District School Board. Many of these stories are included in our 2017 Annual Report. We have captured our stories and the many ways we get to know our students through this annual report website as well as a downloadable summary document.
We purposefully provide opportunities for students to share with us what works for them. By developing relationships with students, gathering their “voice”, and reviewing collected data from classroom observations and formal assessments, we are able to more effectively support the individual needs of students. We know that this is what ultimately leads to their success.
In Trillium Lakelands District School Board we support students with a safe, caring, equitable, and inclusive teaching and learning environment. Feed All Four as the TLDSB way of being continues as a focus throughout all strategic board, school, and classroom planning. Classroom instruction in literacy and mathematics is integrated with learning around self-awareness and self-reflection. Students are encouraged in their role as active citizens to take responsibility for their own well-being.
