Summer Study Online and Abroad Program
It is not too late to register for next summer's exciting LEAD trip!
There is no better way to learn than through experience. Combining travel with course work results in a rich educational experience applying real lessons to real life. LEAD provides a unique opportunity for students ages 16 and over to obtain a 4U credit in a course specifically designed to incorporate online learning with onsite fieldwork.
Students participating in the 2013 LEAD program will earn an ENG4U credit while studying in London and Paris. Students will follow a customized itinerary designed to enhance the groundwork of the course.
Before departure, the first of three portfolio assignments will be started integrating online and face-to-face assignments.
Dates and Details: July 2-29, 2013
July 2-5: Online and independent study (17 hours)
July 8 - 16: Travel (60 hours of course field work)
July 18 - 19: Online and independent study (9 hours)
July 22 - 26: Online and independent study (21 hours)
July 29: Online proctored final exam (3 hours)
LEAD participants will require the use of a computer with a high-speed Internet connection. While travelling, a laptop or notebook is recommended and cameras, camcorders, and i-pads are examples of other devices that may be useful in recording elements of the trip for reference and documentation purposes.
The academic prerequisite for this course is the completion of ENG3U with a minimum grade of 70% as well as a solid academic record in other course work.
