Students from Fenelon Falls Secondary School and Langton Public School paired up to write their own children’s stories as part of a second semester project. Mr. Harrington’s Writer’s Craft class had fun with Kindergarten students as they met and learned about each other’s interests on February 11, 2016. On February 17, Writer’s Craft students visited Langton to ask Mr. Carruth’s kinderkids a list of questions about how their book would be designed and written. Mr. Coleman’s Communications class at FFSS designed the illustrations and graphics for the final product. On June 15, the Kindergarten students were able to see their eagerly awaited, fully published children’s stories to read and take home with them.
Overall this was a great example of how students can work together to bridge and build connections between schools. It’s also a great project showcasing the creative talents of FFSS students and bright young minds of Langton PS kindergarten kids! Special thanks to Hall Printing and TLDSB Student Success Department for supporting the collaboration.
