We strive to provide the best possible programs for all students in the most enabling, rewarding, and least restrictive environment. We value students’ efforts and seek every opportunity to recognize and nurture them so that our students will become positive and productive global citizens. Together, we work hard to make a difference, one student at a time, by touching minds, hearts, and spirits to shape futures.
Built in 1910, Central Senior School continues to be the only school in Trillium Lakelands District School Board that provides programs for grades 7 and 8 students exclusively. All five elementary schools in Lindsay send students to our school.
Central Senior School is the principal feeder school for LCVI. We send seventy per cent of our graduates to this school and the remaining 30 per cent attend IE Weldon Secondary School.
The Central Senior School Council supports quality educational opportunities for all children by providing positive advice and assistance through a cooperative effort of parents, school staff, and the community. Its members promote growth and achievement through student learning. The Council meets the fourth Thursday each month.
Our programs provide a strong balance of academics, arts, athletics, intramural, and extra-curricular activities. We offer science, instrumental music, visual arts, and physical education programs compatible with any secondary school. We provide an extensive enhanced resource support program for students who struggle academically. We provide two Practical Academics and Life Skills classes for exceptional students, one that is wheelchair accessible.
