School Mission
To strive for excellence in an environment of respect, responsibility, and safety.

School History
Alexandra Public School was built in 1910 and opened in 1911. It was named in honour of Queen Alexandra, the wife of King Edward VII. During her reign Queen Alexandra spent many years establishing hospitals, creating centres for treatment of the deaf and working with veterans’ groups. Her dedication and social consciousness have inspired our school motto, “Of whom much is given…much is expected.” One hundred years later, we have added a new gymnasium to our school, thanks to the commitment of Susan Denure, who tirelessly raised money and awareness so our gym would be built. Our school community is filled with dedicated individuals who strive to keep our school the best it can be.

General Information
Alexandra PS is a small school with a strong emphasis on Character Education and Leadership Development for both staff and students. We work collaboratively with our parent and community volunteers to provide balanced academic programs and extra-curricular opportunities. We proudly wear Royal colours of scarlet and gold as we represent our school in various events in our community.

Parent Participation
We have a very dedicated School Advisory Council who supports the students and staff throughout the year. We have an open-door policy for parents and guardians encouraging regular communication between home and school.
