Long after Week of Kindness comes to an end at TLDSB schools, students continue to give back to their local community and health organizations. As part of a class project,  a grade 7 student at Ridgewood Public School raised over $400 for the Lupus Society.

Raven, who was diagnosed with Lupus herself, wanted to raise awareness for the disease which affects over 1:1000 Canadian men, women and children. Raven shared educational material with fellow students, sold cookies, and gave away complimentary entries for an IPad draw. Ridgewood Public School supported the cause by wearing red and white, and hosting an assembly where the IPad winner was announced. The President of the Lupus Society also presented Raven with a recognition award for her hard work.
