In Trillium Lakelands District School Board, we believe all children can learn.
What is Special Education?
Our special education services range from accommodating children in the regular classroom to supplying intensive individual support. In addition to helping our exceptional pupils, we offer a variety of student services programs, designed to help each child reach his or her potential.
The education and welfare of students is a joint effort between school and home. Our programs are effective because we combine the support of parents with the excellent resources of our school and community.
What programs are offered?
A description of programs and services for Special Education is available inside The Special Education Plan. Trillium Lakelands District School Board has also developed A Parent's Guide to provide information about the Identification, Placement, and Review Committee (IPRC) and to set out for you the procedures involved with identifying a pupil as “exceptional.”
How does Trillium Lakelands District School Board deal with changing Special Education needs?
The Trillium Lakelands DSB has developed an Annual Accessibility Plan which details the continual improvement of access to school board facilities, policies, programs, practices and services for students, staff, parents/guardians, volunteers and members of the community with disabilities.
