A sigh of accomplishment drew smiles across the faces of adult education graduates as their names were called to receive the most important document they have been missing – their Ontario Secondary School Diploma. On Wednesday, June 29, 2011 children, wives, husbands, parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, teachers, trustees, and Senior Administration staff were present to acknowledge the courageous graduates who overcame great barriers to earn their diploma. Those attending were welcomed by Chairperson, Karen Round and the celebration was led by Lindsay AETC principal, Bill Clark. Valedictorian, Heather McNown gave an inspirational speech to her fellow graduates and ended with words of encouragement from the popular movie, Finding Nemo – “When life gets you down, you know whatcha gotta do? Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming.”
