“Overall, this is our best year ever,” stated Director of Education, Larry Hope, “I am extremely proud of the accomplishments of our students and the commitment and dedication of our staff.”
Trillium Lakelands District School Board results met or exceeded the province in seven out of eight categories. The achievement levels for special needs students have been remarkable.

“I want to congratulate our staff on the tremendous effort they put forward to achieve these results,” continued Director Hope, “A solid foundation has been built over the past several years in TLDSB, from which our teachers, consultants, administrators, and support staff, and ultimately, our students, have been able to soar.”
Improvements in Grade 3 and 6 results have been achieved by continued alignment of literacy, numeracy, and special education initiatives throughout the system. These departments have been instrumental in promoting targeted instruction and collaboration amongst colleagues in elementary classrooms across the district.
Grade 9 math results have improved over time for both applied and academic streams. Capacity building for classroom teachers, the introduction of a three-part lesson plan, as well as clearly identified learning goals for students will continue to support improvement for secondary schools.
TLDSB will soon be releasing the 2011-2012 Strategic Plan which will focus support on the Board’s goals of student engagement and achievement, staff engagement and development, and parent and community engagement.
