Innovation & Inquiry Using Technology

The Innovation & Inquiry Using Technology Project (IIT) was established to support the use of technology in K – 12 classrooms to enhance student engagement and achievement.  Teachers are invited to submit an application for financial support of up to ten thousand dollars for the purchase and use of technology in their classroom.  This program has enthusiastic digital teachers pioneering teaching strategies in a digital world through developed inquiry questions.  Applications are always overwhelming each year.

2014-2015 Scaling Up:

Sixty-four applications were received for the 2014-15 school year. Twenty-three projects were approved for a total of $106,761 that was spent on technology, headphones, software applications, and release time for professional learning.  Technology that was purchased this year include iPad Airs, iPad Minis, Nexus 11 tablets, X-Box Kinect, Chromebooks, and a fabric cutter.

Since there is a variety of technology and software/applications being used in these projects, we are able to make long-term decisions on what types of technology and software/applications should be purchased and supported as a district to student engagement and achievement in all schools.
