Endless Possibilities: Join Us As We Embrace Learning

A note from the Director of  Education and Chair of the Board

2016 has been a year of reflection as well as an opportunity to look to the future to contemplate all that might be possible for our school communities over the coming years. For several weeks this spring, we sought thoughts and ideas from our staff, our students, our parents, and our communities through our “Your Voice Matters” consultation process. Through focus group discussions and activities, one-on-one conversations, and a unique online engagement process, we asked what people liked about TLDSB and our schools, what they see as challenges, and what additional opportunities they want to see in our schools.

And the result? An exciting dynamic multi-year strategic plan called “Embrace Learning” that is packed with engaging, innovative challenges for us to take on over the next few years. We invite you to take a look at this 2016 annual report through the lens of the main focus areas for Embrace Learning – our commitment to high levels of student achievement through innovation and collaboration for all, supporting the well-being of all, and valuing the strength of everyone’s voice.

Please join us as we embrace learning. High levels of student achievement and well-being are made possible through the creative, inspiring, and tireless work of all those who engage with our students each day. A very special thank you goes out to all our teachers, educational assistants, early childhood educators, administrators, school and central office support staff as well as our many community partners who make Trillium Lakelands District School Board a safe and caring environment in which to work and learn.
