On Friday, Feb 19, 2016, students of all ages welcomed winter with open arms as they enjoyed a mix of activities, both indoors and out during the school’s annual winter carnival. Staff and volunteers from the community organized 14 different stations for students, ranging from sleigh rides, tobogganing, and broom ball, to name a few.
The students also got the chance to learn about fur harvesting and the different kinds of pelts that are used on clothing today. A guest appearance was also made by Bonhomme Carnaval.
Of course, all of these activities certainly fuelled an appetite, so students were able to warm up by indulging in ‘beaver tails’ and apple juice that was provided at the event. Students, volunteers, and teachers all had a great time by being able to spend the day having fun and making the best of the snow conditions.
